Renata García is a mexican multi-genre violinist who challenges the limits imposed by academic music education , breaking all boundaries and remodeling the musical crossover concept nowadays.

Classically trained, Renata got her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance at Florida International University and Bachelor’s Degree at National Music Conservatory of Mexico. Renata also studied Philosophy at Facultad de Filosofía y Letras (Philosophy School) from UNAM in Mexico City.

Since a young age she has been working internationally as a violinist, performing in such places as United States, Europe and Mexico. From the streets to a big concert hall, Renata has the flexibility to perform in all platforms knowing that the audience has the same warm heart in every format. She dares to play from classical to reggaeton, combining all possible music genres.

Always looking for a way to innovate, Renata explores not only different genres in music but in art. She manages to mix singing and beatboxing with violin while dancing bellydance at the same time. She is always looking new ways to explore life.

She has performed alongside international renowned artists such as Danny Elfman, Michael Bublé, Jonathan Davis, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Succar, Prince Royce, Sofía Reyes and Kygo. 

Ms Garcia has honed her improvisation skills in masterclasses with Christian Howes, Mike Block, Darol Anger, Casey Driessen, Hanneke Cassel, Zach Brock among her classical skills under the tutelage of such renowned artists as James Ehnes, Vadim Gluzman, Misha Vitenson, Alexander and Albert Markov, Grigory Kalinovsky, Gary Levinson, and Cuarteto Latinoamericano, to name a few.

 

As a more classical approach, Renata has a lot of experience as an orchestral musician since she has collaborated with Miami Symphony Orchestra, Southwest Florida Symphony, Miami Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Metropolitana, Orquesta Juvenil Universitaria Eduardo Mata from UNAM and Orquesta Filarmónica from UNAM; performing in places such as New World Center, Arsht Center, South Miami Cultural Arts Center, Arena México, Auditorio Nacional and Sala Nezahualcóyotl in Mexico City, to name a few. She has been able to perform a vast symphonic repertoire with conductors such as Grzegorz Nowak, Permanent Associate Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Jan Latham-Koenig, Massimo Quarta, Avi Ostrowsky, Ronald Zollman, Eduardo Marturet, among others.

In addition to her symphonic experience, Renata is an active chamber musician. She co-funded the Versa String Quartet in 2015 performing for several years in Miami different venues. Furthermore, she has been playing with Dual Crossover for over 5 years now, a group that combines the sounds of violin and saxophone mixed with all possible musical genres.

Renata has served as well as a very energetic instructor for over a decade earning a lot of experience over the years. In 2020, Ms. García was appointed Orchestra Assistant for the ITAM Orchestra in Mexico City. In 2016 she worked as Conductor of the Debut Orchestras at Miami Music Project, an El Sistema organization that brings social help to under-resourced communities through the transformative power of music. Furthermore, Ms. García has done extensive work as a violin instructor, teaching in Miami Conservatory of Music, Allegro School of Music, Crescendo Music Center, and ITAM University in Mexico City. In addition, she has mantained a private studio since 2014.

Renata is currently residing in Mexico City.
